Sikorsky Aerospace of Stratford, CT wanted to encourage and reward corporate helicopter purchases, and they chose us to help them. Our team was called on to handle the project from initial creative direction, through photography, electronic art and retouching, through management of the final printed pieces. We worked closely with GBG Inc., a corporate gift giving specialist, in developing a product mix and a look for the promtional materials that was in keeping with the spirit of the individuals and companies that would make such a purchase.
The equipment we used for this project was the state-of-the-art in digital capture systems: the Jenoptik MF Scan System.
After the initial product captures in our studio, we then color corrected, silhouetted and added the recognizeable Sikorsky winged logo to all items. This digital retouching was necessary since the first helicopter had already been sold, and the rewards program and literature needed to be finished before production samples of the merchandise would be ready for photography.
A combination of stock photo (glacial landscape), supplied photo (the 2 Sikorsky helicopters), and studio photo (all products), was combined into an unusual full color folding piece, then enclosed into a semi-translucent envelope.
We printed the piece as a 6-color job; 4 color process, plus dull and gloss varnish to further hilight the products.
